    I did.
I was made captain of the U12 football team and was doing ok.
At the throw in for the second half, I rose gracefully and caught the ball before sprinting off head down towards the goal, everyone shouting blurieed in my ears, sailed through the defence and cracked the back of the net., turned around to celebrate to find everyone shouting.
"You F***cking eejit Lando that’s our goals"
I got a good clip around the ear from Mr McCarthy, our manager and rightly so.
The other team was crouched on their hunkers laughing, even the ref was splitting himself.
The next week I wasn't captain.
    So.
Did you ever have a life changing moment that later didn’t change your life after all? eh?

That's the day he realised he will never become a professional footballer

Surely a life changing moment that didn't change your life is a bit of an oxymoran(sp?) ?

I had a life changing moment when I read this thread and realised that it was stupid and pointless and I vowed to myself that I wouldn't comment on said thread from that moment on...

I didnt but a friend did

He got cancer and went through the whole chemo/radio therapy thing.

Heroically he got through it after 5 years of battling and when he got the all clear said he would from then on live everyday to the fullest.

2 years later- he hates his job, cant get a GF and still supports a crap football team.

(good to have him back tho)
