Hi is there a free clinic that will test my 15 yr old son eyes

    Dont know about free places

    But I paid €20 for a detailed test in Vision express 2 weeks ago
    I also gut my + and - numbers for my Glasses

    In that case I think it's €50.00, but that covers 12 months

    If your child is 15 or under they can get a free test from their local HSE eye clinic. If a child has a medical card in their own right they cannot use it to avail of free eyetests untill they are 16 or over. After they turn 16 they can use their medical card to get a free test in any optician.

    To get your child tested in a HSE clinic you have to go through your GP to have your child put on the waiting list.

    If you are given a prescription from the clinic that sheet is worth around €52 off the cost of new glasses. Some places might only give €42. This is incorrect (that is the adult allowence).
