From a quick review I don't see any benefit that you wouldn't get from your own accounting body - that's why members pay subs :)

You'll get a completed set of audit programs and an ISQC1 manual which you'll need if you hold a practicing cert.

Which you can get from your body if you have an audit cert

At a cost, perhaps the OP is finds that Omnipro is a little cheaper and wants to see is it worth changing over.

I'd advise you to contact OmniPro and get a trial, there is also a forum, with one post on it.

I have it and its fine for my level, but a trial would give you a better idea.

No harm in getting a trial, however...

Not sure what you mean about changing over. Omnipro is not an alternative to an auditing body. You'll still need to be a member of ACCA, CAI etc to hold a practicing/auditing cert.

Also, re audit programmes etc. I'm not sure going down a generic pack route would make economic sense compared to a member's body pack when it comes to peer review etc.

    Changing over your audit pack.

Regardless of where you buy them, you are charged, so it might make sense to switch supplier (there is also a work program for Sole Traders/Partnerships, Audit Exempt and Audits for different size Co's in the centre).

I imagine that the bodies don't care what pack you use, once you use an up to date one correctly, I also imagine that there is very little difference in the tests they all (the packs from all the bodies) state, plus the fact that they will have to be adjusted to fit each client, as necessary anyway.

Exactly. I used the CPA audit packs until recently and changed to omnipro in the last few months. There's little or no difference in price but the omnipro pack gives you the audit exempt and sole trader packs. All the lead schedules are already cross referenced so you just have to change the narratives for each client.

Thanks for the feedback lads. I don't intend on replacing an accountancy body and I don't audit and have no intention to do so. Its more the time saving aspect of the work programme I was interested in.
