Former London Irish stalwart Barry Everitt is to retire from rugby following a long and prolific career. Surely one of the finest kickers of a rugby ball (1762 points for LI) to grace the game and a fine thinking-mans fly half. He also played for Leinster and more latterly Northampton saints. A good Naynagh man from the better part of town (Spout road). Good luck to Barry in his new job as director of Sport at Cranmore Prep.

He definetly improved when he went over to the Gp but I remember watching a few times playing for Leinster and he could not hit a barn door!!

Absolutely true, had a few poor showings, but overcame it to become the proverbial metronome...

Good Luck to him, he was probably dropped from Irish rugby too early, imo.

+1 I believe a couple of bad performances for Leinster dropped him below the Irish selectors radar but he went on to become a phenomenon of consistency. It's just a pity that's Cranmore School he'll be in and not Carnmore. :(

Ah now. It's got a lot going for it nowdays. It's near Lough Derg, it has a bypass, eh....

Never knew he was from Nenagh actually. Anyone know where he went to school?

Went to that fine academy of excellence ;) Nenagh CBS. His older brother was in the same year as me.
