... score a man/woman of the same second name, assuming there's no family relationship whatsoever.

Yeah,if i knew i wasn't related to him. Know a couple of people who've gone out with people with the same surname.

Be pretty stupid to turn down a shag just cos of a last name!

There's always the afterthough that *maybe* she'd be my 3rd cousin twice removed or something to that effect.

No bother..you cant assume anything about family relationship, look at that couple in papers in May who met in a nightclub, had a child and then found out through DNA tests that they were siblings...(can't post link as am IT (and ETOH) disfunctional...

Would love to, but not so likely though. I've got a not so common surname.

if a man and a woman with the same last name marry, the woman can cure a hooping cough, so the legend goes

Ha probably not, living in a small town means scoring someone of the same second name or not will make the pathetic headlines of the day regardless

If you lived in the 50's when you couldn't get a hotel room together without being married, finding a girl with the same last name was a god send.

Mine too. Anyone with it is almost certainly closely related.

To be on the safe side, anyone whose name doesn't span at least 2 full pages in the phonebook should probably not screw a namesake. That's my rule of two thumbs.

I've never met anyone with my surname before, so I'm not sure.. I wouldn't if I met them in the States or Canada, but maybe abroad where it'd (the surname) be a bit more common I'd consider it.

Would still do a fair amount of checking, though..

Would I bang a chick named Declan?
I would wearily scope out the situation before venturing to the bedroom.

A girl with the same surname?
My family's name is rare. If she was from Ireland we're sure to be related.
