I hope this is in the right place if it is not I am sorry but not sure where to put it.

I'm in the process of making a wireless digital photoframe out of an old laptop. My problem is I can't find the type of software I want to use:confused:. I basically want to be able to drop photos and movies into a folder and the software will just randomly play them. I can find some that will do just photo's but not any that will do both the photo's and movies. I have also found screensaver programs that you have to baiscally create every time you add something new to it.
I don't know if I'm not using the correct term for the google or the software just does not exist (I do find that hard to believe). I thought I'd ask here before I compromise.
It can be either windows or linux based. (although I would rather windows as I'm not very strong in linux)

    Thanks for your help.:D

If you put windows 7 on it then you can set the desktop to be a random image from a specified folder. If you hide the taskbar and leave the desktop clean you'll have exactly what you're asking for I think.
