Think they have expressed students feelings fairly accurately - fair play.
Anyone think it will actually have any impact though? I doubt it.

Thanks for that. It's handy having some back-up when trying to explain what went wrong :D

Everything I'm thinking is contained verbatim in the exam report.Glad I'm not the only one who thought these exams were grossly unfair.

    P2 - Advanced Corporate reporting April 2009(1).pdf

I've just had a look at the CPA paper the examiner adapted the CAP2 paper from.

First off, it's funny for a CAP2 exam to base some questions on another institute's advanced corporate reporting paper - the exam standard of CAP2 exams is all over the place. Each paper mixes easy and complex parts but doesn't really allocate a consistent marking scheme for the difficulty involved.

Secondly, the Institute really are making it up as they go along, copy and pasting what other English and Irish accountancy instititutes do - it doesn't show their exam department in a good light.

If you want respectable exams, good learning materials...look elsewhere. It's as simple as that. That's my main experience from CAP 1 and CAP 2 since this new syllabus was introduced. If it wasn't for the big accountancy firms being full of ICAI member, they would choose to train people through other exam bodies if they had any common sense.

    Good luck to everyone.
