Hi,just wondering if anyone notices that their water pump is noisy.

Just had a Grundfos 3 bar pump installed for the ensuite shower.

It seems rather noisy when its on and working.

Its installed in the airing cupboard upstairs along with the tank, and you can hear it quite well downstairs when the ensuite shower is in use.

    Are these pumps usually noisy.

Maybe I am expecting too much here, just thought that it would be,well,a bit quieter than what it is.

Anyone else have a noisy pump system??
Or are they all noisy in general, when in use??

Pic of my system (3 bar pump is in the corner on the floor).

Get a tile, as in a floor or wall tile. Silicone the pump to the tile then silicone the tile to the floor. This should have a massive effect on reducing the noise

The whole lot is well and truely earthed with earth straps.;)

That pic was taken while the plumbing work was being done.

I,ll try the tile trick over the weekend and let you know how I get on.

Thanks to both of you for that tip..:)

It's a good tidy job. Is this the same trades person who did under your sink?

Yeah, the main plumber did the heating system for me.

His younger plumber assistant lad did under the sink. His attitude seemed to be,ah sure it will do.

The main man knows his stuff and was very neat and precise with his piping.

should the pipes feeding the pump not be 3/4" rather than 1/2"

Actually your right. There is reducers on that pipe. i wonder is that leading to air in the pump and causing cavitation....?
