Question regarding Result in a module

Right, it's a bit wordy, but I'll try explain it as best as I can.

First, I need people to read this:
    PS122, PS123 & PS113

No minimum pass mark is required in either of the individual sub modules PS122 and PS123. The result in the ten credit main module PS113** is calculated based on the average of sub-modules PS122 and PS123. The minimum pass mark for module PS113 is 40%. University compensation regulations apply to the main module PS113 only.

If a student fails to reach a mark of 40% in main module PS113, and is not eligible to compensate according to University guidelines in module PS113, then they must repeat the individual sub-module(s) (PS122 & PS123) where they received a mark of less that 40%. Following the repeat sitting of the failed element the average of modules PS122 and PS123 will be recalculated and a repeat mark awarded in the main module PS113.

There is no requirement in the repeat diet to attain a minimum mark in either sub-element PS122 or PS123. The pass mark for the main module PS1113 at the repeat sitting is 40%.

My situation is a bit complicated. My lecturers in both modules said I didn't have to pass both of them, providing I averaged 40%.

I got 61% in PS122 (Semester One) and didn't put much of an effort into CA in Semester Two as I could have. When I got my results I saw that I got 50% average in PS113 (Year Long Average). However I also got 39% in PS123 (Semester Two) but the grade was S, which means to repeat Assignment element (aka, CA). There are people in the same boat as me but they got an R grade which is to repeat an exam.

Surely there's something wrong here? If, by what I and my friends have gotten, that implies that we have to pass CA and the Exam, which also implies that what the info above and what our lecturers told is was complete lies! I've emailed the lecturer of the module I "failed" but have yet to hear back from him and I had a conversation with Cillian Byrne, and he told me not to panic because he believes there's an error in there somewhere.

What do you all think? I think it should be pointed out that, even though I've to repeat CA, I also got compensation for a biology module I failed in Semester One. It's all very confusing...

Yeah I've contacted Swift about it but, like all email's I've ever sent him, I'm left waiting for a reply. If I don't hear from him I'll get in touch with the registry.

I'm just seeing what other people thought about it before I got in touch with the registry.

go to the registry about it asap

this should NOT happen. both lecturers, swift and kobayashi, expressed it very clearly and very underlined " you only need to get 40 or more in average, taking into account S1 ans S2"

    good luck
