There seems to be a limited amount of these on the market, does anyone have one and if so what do they think. As far as I can see there are two contenders, the speedo Aquabeat and the H20 one. There is another one but it looks as though you have ears the size of a donkey when you wear it.

    Reviews and opinions welcome.

if you know someone in USA or are willing to pay for high postage - you must get an underwater IPOD. I use it everyday and the sound is perfect - doesnt slip out of your ears its brilliant I love it!! Look up swimman inc.

Thanks for that, a little pricey but looks beautiful. Has anyone used the Speedo one?

    I have the Aquabeat!

It's great... but there are a few flaws, e.g. if you tumbleturn you lose sound for a few seconds before resurfacing, the loss of sound depends on the depth of your turn, oh and obviously you can't dive in with it on! I wear it under my cap as I wear racing goggles and the strap is too thin to latch on to the Aquabeat, but then again under the hat it stays in place better. The only other thing is that sometimes it's very easy to leave it on, despite trying to turn ot off - so you could end up charging it constantly! Despite of these things for a prototype it is unreal, I've had mine for two/almost three years so some of these flaws may be corrected in the newer models.

    I would definitely recommend it!

I'm looking at getting one of these. There is the aquabeat LZR Racer and the aquabeat. There doesn't seem to be much of a difference in them reading the specs. Anyone know if there is any major difference? Thanks

I got the Aquabeat was doing awful lot of swimming with it, it was great for about two months and then went belly up. I got a re-fund for it and was happy with that. I would not go and spend the extra on the Racer as I would imagine the same technology is used to manufacture both. Anyway I think a 1 Gig player would be plenty for pool use. I would get another one though, just concentrating on running at the moment. I think the reason it broke is I was doing a good bit of open water swimming with it and maybe I could have been a bit more careful with it, drying it out after swims etc.

If you are buying it I would get it from the Speedo website as the customer service was great.

    Thanks for that.
I found a load of reviews on the net so I went ahead and got the racer one as it was reduced and was the same price as the basic. I will be swimming in the pool only. I go about 3 days a week. I hope that this might make me stay longer in the pool even though I do love my swim.
    I'll mind it.

I just got the ipod ( birthday pressie) from swimman. Thanks for the recommendation. Used it today and it made such a difference doing lengths, I loved every minute and even found I pushed myself harder when some fast tunes came on. I can get a bit lazy when swimming on my own but so far so good.:D
