    Hi all,
I have about 45 acres of land which is in conversion. I am thinking of raising organic turkeys on it when the process is complete. As a starter I was hoping to raise about 50 turkeys for this Christmas (not organic).

I am not really a full time farmer (like alot of people) and have work until the beginning of august away from home. Is there anyone who would sell 5 week old (or older Turkey Poults (ideally north midlands but if necessary anywhere on the island of ireland).

    Many thanks

This guy sells them and delivers to different towns on different days e.g he is in Castlepolland Co. Westmeath once every two weeks. I have met him in the square there a few times and collected them from him.

August into September is the time to get them, well that is what I remember when we had them but don't go on my word.

    They grow very fast.

main downside is that all the work is at christmas - obviously - but it takes up alot of time killing and plucking and cleaning out:eek:

i always kill 5/6 days before christmas then hang up, and then spend the 23 and 24th cleaning them out
