This is taking place in Netherlands over the next few days. Ireland beat Canada by 6 wickets in a warm-up game on Tuesday.
Today, they are playing Kenya and have just bowled them out for 163. Looking good to start with a win with a fairly experimental side with the abscence of the county players

    Ireland 6/0 after 2 overs.

The Ireland team today is Sterling, Hall, Cusack, Dockrell, White, Jones, McCann, J Mooney, K O'Brien, Poynter and Johnston. Couple of names in there Im not so familiar with like James Hall, Rory McCann and Nigel Jones, so Im looking forward to seeing how they get on.

63-1 off 18 overs. Shouldn't have too many problems in seeing out the result in this one I'd imagine

there's a scorecard on bbc too!

    141/1 after 34!

7 wicket victory for Ireland in the finish. Stirling and O'Brien's wickets being lost late on but a very comfortable victory. The other two games are still on. Both have a bit to run yet.

Afghanistan is next up on Saturday. If we can lay that ghost to rest I'm confident we'll win this out.

Ireland doing well this morning against Scotland, we have them at 45-5 in 22 overs.

A good victory over 2 days yesterday against Afghanistan too.

Scotland 109-8 now from 44.3 overs. McCallum had kept them in it but was out for 49 a few minutes ago. Looks like it should be a comfortable win which is unusual when playing the Scots.

Having said that its a low scoring day all round. Canada 145-8 against the Netherlands and Kenya 190-7 both in their final few overs as well.

Any one in contact with anyone at the ground? How bad is the pitch? Is it a fresh one, or has it been used previously? The first game at Voorburg was high scoring, but since then, the scores have been getting lower. Could be a tough chase

That's what I was wondering too Renno - Ian Callender on the live text commentary is saying that the pitch is the cause of the low scoring. This could be a very tight finish.

Scotland 117 all out, even allowing for the pitch I'd imagine we shouldn't have too many problems surpassing that total, at least thats what I hope.

I hope you're right. The pitch is apparently a minefield, and Scotland's bowlers are no pushover. We need strong performances from the top order, even with a run-rate of less than 3.

It did occur to me alright that 117 in 47 overs was bad for Scotland and made me wonder if the pitch was playing a part!

Ireland 11/0 off 2 overs so maybe its not that bad afterall...

Shush, djimi - ahhh, now look what you've done!!! We're 12 for 2!!!

13 runs off the 7th over bring us to 27-2. We'll need a good partnership from Stirling and Kevin O'Brien to keep us on track.

Yeah Im going to keep my mouth shut for a while so...!

    Ireland now 50-2 off 11.3.

60-4 from 16 overs. Looking a bit more dodgy now. We have plenty of overs in hand, so important we don't lose any more wickets though.

    Edit: 65-4 from 20 overs.

Looking in danger of falling short now. 65-5 now. We need someone to step up to the plate now.

If John Mooney & Kevin O'Brien (or even one of them) stay there, we'll knock off the runs. Just hang in there.

Given the circumstances a couple of good overs. 81-5 now after 26 overs. RRR of 1.54

Edit: Good partnership from O'Brien and Mooney bringing us to the verge of victory. Looking good now 107-5

Ireland win by 5 wickets at the end. Job done by the lads.

Good win in the end. 3 wins from 3. Scotland and Netherlands will be on 2 wins after today. Afghanistan could move to 2 wins, their match with winless Kenya is still in the balance and Canada look like they will be winless after today. Canada next up on Wednesday. Netherlands then on Friday before hopefully being in the final on Saturday.

Not much of a break between the last group game and the final,

and I didn't see the game today, what was with the wicket/crease?, people were saying it was in awful condition...

Another comfortable win today which I think guarantees us a place in the final. Afghanisatan v Scotland is pretty much a play off to join us in the final

Very poor start for Ireland in the final. Scotland 90-0 from 21 overs. Looks like we might fall at the final hurdle having dominated the competition up to this point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,224 ✭✭✭DH2K9

142-1 after 31.2 overs. What does the winner get of this competition nothing. Ireland should be given more ODI and T20 matches and even series against top class opposition and why is it that Zimbabwe and Bangladesh are a test-nation and Ireland aren't?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,200 ✭✭✭kensutz

168-6 after 39.2 overs. Finally getting the wickets down.

Ireland win by 6 wickets. Good batting and bring on Bangladesh.

Great win and a top performance for the tournament. Once again proving we are absolutely the cream of the crop of the associates.

Great to see us performing so well with the young players in the team in place of the absent senior players. Shows we have real strength coming thru.
