Country Fairs - showing a terrier

I have a terrier, and am wondering about what is involved in entering in the terrier classes at country fairs. He is a red/wheaten wire haired patterdale, so I am wondering if he would be classed as a patterdale or fell.
Also, what are judges looking for in these shows? Is it like a pedigree show where they must stand in a particular way for the judge. Also, are there requirements regarding a terrier's working experience / bloodlines? Is working potential/capability the main thing?
I'm new to this, so would love some advice about it.

just enter him there will be a working terrier class, if he's red then he's a fell terrier :D
just make sure his mouth is neither under or overshot no point showing him if it is , and it's just a show based on looks the judge really can't make any comment on his working ability or lack of it cos he dosn't know

A Patterdale is really just a black fell!

Like any show, judges are really only looking for standard in each breed!
So they'll be judged on looks and condition mainly! (won't be counting the scars of anything!).

There's a good Lurcher, Terrier show coming up on the 18th of July in Mearscourt House, Moyvore Co Westmeath!

First class starts at 1pm and you can enter on the day!

Should be the makings of a good day out and hopefully the rain will stay away! ;)
