Brazil / Argentina final is 4/1 on Boylesports do you think this is the most likely outcome and that is the best possible price ?

Tbh I think Germany will surprise many, they WILL score against Argentina, Metzelder and Lahm will be the key for them. They are just looking to upset the odds. Germany 2-1.

    Holland, forget about it.

Insightful reply as always, Thanks for that.

No doubt if they win it you'll aftertime (As usual) and say you had a fortune on them from the start.

Get over yourself you cry baby, I'm entitled to an opinion and that is Holland will go out to Brazil. Maybe I've aftertimed occasionally but it was never anything huge and not recently. I'd say you'd be better off worrying about yourself instead of coming on with childish remarks because someone said something you disagree with.

Take your ****e elsewhere and relax a bit.

Boo-hoo! You didn't give an opinion, You told me to "forget about it". Not exactly giving an opinion is it ?. A little bit more thought into your post would of been nice instead of rubbishing my opinion straight away.

I think you're the one that needs to relax, Post reported for calling me a "cry baby" and saying to "take my shite elsewhere". This is horrible abuse, The Jews suffered less than this and I (Anne>) frankly will NOT stand for it.
    I'm joking obviously!

I had a tenner on Germany a few months ago @16/1, seemed like a good price considering they're always there or thereabouts. It's still a tall order with Argentina, Spain, Brazil the most likely route to it but you never know. For a back four that's been lambasted over and over (same at Euro 2008) they look quite strong to me. I always fear Lahm's a bit of a liability if someone has a good go at him but otherwise they look good.

I think it's the team ethic that Low has instilled in them that's the key. There's no outstanding, world class players (Ozil potentially) but there's no slacking either and they're reaping the rewards.

Obviously I'll be hoping they get through, so might as well go with Germany/Brazil.

For the record my remark was directed at Holland, not you.

I understand now. :pac: Hopefully you noticed the white writing in my second post. :D

I really do fancy Holland though, They'll raise their game big time against Brazil and they'll trouble them alot. Massively overpriced too IMO.

Don't think Holland will make it past Brazil and if they do I don't think they will make the final.

    Brazil vs Germany

I hope to feck it comes in :D

I think Brazil will be in the final. Spain I reckon will just do enough to get there amd I think they'll be playing Germany in the last 4 game.

Time to start laying out of that buddy ! I'd lay half the stake around 4.8 (if you can) and let the other half ride until the semi's... that's just me though.

Have the same bet myself, only €20 on though.

Brazil v Argentina with Brazil to win!!!
If your feeling brave you could pick 1st = Brazil and 2nd= Argentina @ 9/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,838 ✭✭✭Nulty

The Dutch will beat seven shades of Oranje out of Brazier. Brazil are crap and should stick to volleyball on the Copacabana.

    Holland -v- Spain FTW!

Don't see myself laying any of that off until after the weekend, don't expect Paraguay or Holland to knock out Spain or Brazil to be honest. I'd only lay out of it if I didn't fancy Spain or Brazil to progress, that's not the case at the moment so I won't lay out of it. I don't mind losing the €360 & the €50 to be honest (obviously would be less than delighted but it's not the rent money or anything). I may well lay some off after the weekend if things go as I expect. I don't know the times of the next matches but ideally I would like the Brazil (if they get there) v Uraguay/Ghana game to be before the other as I reckon Brazil won't be troubled there. That would leave Spain (hopefully) at evens ish to qualify for the final.

Edit - just checked, the Brazil side semi final is on the 6th and the Spain side on the 7th, good good.

    Have a bit on Brazil v Spain @ 11/1. I would love it ................................

Haven’t actually seen Holland play yet but no one appears to have advanced any reasoning as to why they think Holland will beat Brazil. Brazil are a canny if not classy outfit, they know how to win games. Admittedly Holland have won all their games, but by all accounts haven’t been great.

Spain’s side of the draw is far less straightforward. Germany have yet to come up against a side that can retain possession, so if they can beat Argentina I would fancy them strongly against Spain. Either way I will probably just cover my stake before Spain’s semi-final.

    5.4 on Betfair now.

I saw the white writing before you edited it and made it white Pyro! :)

Anyway, my reasoning for Holland not to beat Brazil.

They don't have a particularly strong defence, not a fan of Heitinga. von Bronckhorst is past it imo, Robben and Sneijder on the other hand are fantastic, between them Stekelenburg in goal and van Persie (who isn't on fire at all) I think it will be a tight game. I just think Brazil have that bit extra quality to put them away, I reckon 2-1 to Brazil.

If any of the rest of my accumulator fails I hope Holland throw a wrench in Brazil's plans :)

Forgot to add I was watching the Holland game against 'us' (Slovakia), they really struggled, there was no period in the game where Holland dominated, Slovakia were always threatening, one or two of the shots on target were very close and with the penalty at the end it could've been a different outcome. They will need a serious improvement to ask a question of Brazil. 100 euro on Spain and Brazil double for me.

Fair play to everyone who backed Holland, went to the bookies right after the disallowed goal to put a ton straight on Brazil. Just as I was doing it the being suspended, I was so annoyed but I'm pretty damn happy now. If Spain and Holland reach the final I win 250 euro as I have them in the busters in my pub. Really didn't think they could do it but hopefully they can get to the final from here.

When did you make that bet and what stake? It must have been pretty speculative.

If Germany win outright none of those bets win??

You seem to have been firing in the winners though!

I meant in terms of the "Name the finalists" dude, Regardless of who wins the game tomorrow I win. Covering all my outright stakes big time too! Been getting alot of luck lately, That last Uruguay goal cost me potential winnings of just over 1k though. Shouldn't be greedy though!
