FAS Courses Question(s)

I am unemployed for 6 months now and seen a few FAS courses that interested me but I was wondering if there is a limit to the amount of FAS courses that a person can do? For example, there is one for 3 weeks at the end of this month then another one for 3 weeks in late August (they are different courses). Could I do both of these or will I only be allowed to do one?

Also, will I still be on JSA (€196) or will my payment be deducted because I am on a course?

you are allowed up to 2 courses and your JSA amount stays the same, it just gets transferred from the social welfare to FAS.

Is that upto 2 courses per calendar year or 2 courses period? The reason I ask is that the 2 courses that I want to do are the shortest ones on the list (6 weeks in total) and I was looking to do another longer one maybe at the end of the year if I'm still unemployed.

I have done one Fas course (6 weeks) it finished last week, I have my name down for another course which starts in 4-5 weeks and runs for 5 weeks, I also have my name down for another course which starts in September which runs for 7-8 weeks.

When it comes to longer courses, I think one of our tutors said, if you do a course that runs for 6 months or more, once that course ends you cannot do another course for 6 months after you finished the first long course.

I am 19 and got €196 per week from Fas.

The following link provides information on their allowances/payments.

Yes as far as I'm aware you can do as many short courses as you want. But you have to have a break after completing a long one.

How much of a break do we have to take? I am doing a 20 week one starting next month. It finishes in July. But, there is another one I want to do which is 52 weeks, starting in September 2013 and ending 2014. Will I be able to do both? Thanks :)
