Tell your insurance company and they claim from a special fund as far as I'm aware.

    Sorry to hear this

Hope no one in your car was injured also and that the damage wasn't too bad.

Hope they hadn't seatbelts on miserable bastards

If it's doubtful they had no insurance, that means they are insured. Just claim off their insurance.

Lol, talk about a confusing post Del2005! :)

If someone crashes into you and they're uninsured, you just ring up your own insurance company and explain the scenario. They'll usually pay out straight away to you so you can repair your car and then they'll deal with the MIBI to recoup their money (provided the Gardai can verify the identity of the other driver and so on..).

There's absolutely no need for you to ring up the MIBI. You pay a premium to your insurance company for this very reason. Save yourself the time and stress involved in all the phone calls to the MIBI and let your own insurance company do the leg work.

That's a double negative, that means they have insurance:D

A claim on your own insurance is only possible if you have comprehensive cover. To claim from the MIBI you will need the reg no. of the car which struck you.

This is such a pointless and unhelpful post, I wish you just hadn't bothered.

Try and be constructive or don't bother please, people...
