Mods first off I don't want this thread to be seen as spamming/ opportunistic advertising but I am wondering where I would find some artists for a website that I am starting up.

Its mainly to promote themselves i.e the bands and Irish music in general covering all genres tbh

I'm friend with the owner of a UK site who does something similar and thought that an Irish version would be of use to budding artists.

Im wary of what is seen as advertising so if anyone is interested then please can the PM me, mods I assume that is alright?

Only problem i see is that there are alot of sites similar which come and go so often ya cant keep count! If you do set one up, it has to be different, as in offering something the others dont. What that would be, i honestly dont know but all i can say is i have joined a fair few sites like what your describing and most end up with maybe 20-50 artists but never go anywhere. Hope yours will be a success but do alot of research into what would make it better than others out there and fingers crossed it works for you.

    Thanks mate,

Id be expecting to take artists from the current bebo/myspace/facebook market (you know the bands who have a bebo page as their website) and have the facility for them to stream their music, sell some tracks, sell some merchandise and gig tickets online, obviously if they got too big then they would need their own site etc. Id hope to get some featured in my mates site, that has a couple of thousand unique viewers per day too. At the end of the day all I want is the hosting expenses covered, either through donations or ads or a % of tracks/merch sales, but that really shouldn't exceed €300/400 per yr.

    Ta for the reply :pac:
