Try Fightlord they have a great own brand gi sale on at the moment:

You can buy one at http://www.fightlordshop.com/cat.php?cat=82&Level1=21

or you can pick one up at our school ww.defendu.ie

The Fightlord Gis seem good for the price.

Between my brother and I we have owned around 12 gis and a lot of different brands. I would recommend that you buy a Koral or Vulkan gi. My favourite brand is Shoyoroll but they are like gold dust because they only make limited batches,so excluding those then I would say Koral MKM or Classic for a pretty light but durable gi or any Vulkan for a great lightweight Gi.

www.budovideos.com is my favourite website for Gis and other gear.

Yeah they seem interesting. What are they like? Fit,weave, weight etc? What are you comparing them with?

Try http://matrat.us. Admittedly I've only tried this and the HCK stuff but I'd rate the gold weave very highly. Product is quite cheap and delivery is reasonably quick. I bought it back when the exchange rate was better but they're still good deals.

Any of the reviews on them compared to Koral and Atama rated them as good or better at a portion of the price. Over here in Cali most guys wear Vulkan, Adidas or Fuji Victory Gis if that's any help?

Haven't noticed a huge difference between the brands TBH.
I wear a gnarly Atama double weave for comps, makes grips a bit more difficult.
Wouldn't sweat too much about it. Spend a reasonable amount on a recognised brand and you'll be laughing.

I reckon for price versus quality that Faixa Rua are the best gi around at the mo and you don't have to worry about An Post stinging you for duty on your doorstep. The jackets are game ball but the pants are a bit like wearing some old hairy school trousers in the summer. I had to change yesterday it was like wearing wool.

I would highly recommend trying on a team mates one before deciding on what to get. The sizes are all over the camp. Myself I'm an A3 jacket and A4 pants and previously a lot of companies were happy to split an order for you but now they don't seem to give the option online.

I'm getting a Vulkan next. Anyone have any tips on the cheapest/quickest place to buy?

What are shipping costs like on a gi? Also, does duty only apply to stuff ordered from outside the EU?

They all depend. I wouldn't pay any more than $10 on anything coming from the US as they normally just get shipped by regular mail. Unless they're high speed UPSing it to your door the cost of the actual shipping should be low.

As for duty, if customs check the package and it says the package is worth $150 or what have you, then expect them to apply VAT and duty to that value. I've paid €60 on my door for equipment of similar value to that.

I use a Vitamins & Minerals gi these days, it's pretty good, and most importantly looks cool ;)

Just wondering how the Koral Gi's fit? I have an A2 atama and its far too big, yet Im a bit big for an A1, I wish someone would make an A1.5.

Very important. A good fit is the most important characteristic for me.

200 bills?! God the yanks really are onto something, I ordered a Fuji gi the other day and will have it delivered to my US address for just over $80 including the crazy Californian sales tax. We're getting ripped off something awful at home.
