Hi all , I have booked a flight to Faro in Portugal in August, can anyone advise on good apartments to stay, or how to search for & book them, Albufeira seems to be a good option but am open to other requests, many thanks in advance to all who reply.

24hrhotels.com have many hotels and options in Albufeira with many different board options etc.

It all depends on the type of holiday you are looking for and the standard of accomodation you want?

    Beach..... Nightlife.......Quiet..........family...........couple etc.

The Sheraton is a really nice hotel to stay in, however it is pricey. The Baia Grande is recommended or the Vilanova Resort is popular.

Albufeiro has the greatest demand of all the resorts in the Algarve. It is a large resort and has many little sandy beaches and coves. Nightlife is plentyful on "the Strip" and there are many bars and restautants. It caters for everyone.

stayed in Cerro Mar Gardens in April 08. it had just opened so we got upgraded from the older apartments for no extra cost. highly recommend and would definately stay here next time Im back.
2minute walk from Albufeira main square..down lots of steps mind you so not wheelchair friendly but im sure theres another route without steps!
This is my review on tripadvisor Cerro Mar Gardens
we booked with alpharooms as was cheapest, try also booking.com

Stayed in Villanova Apartments a few weeks back - great spot - very cheap but not really a 'family' resort. Its located right on the strip which has loads of bars, clubs and restaurants.

also when looking for hotels in Albufeira they will be/were categorised by "the strip" or "old town". Old town is where we stayed. Walked down the strip once during the afternoon and we were glad we picked the old town
