Wedding Rings - will they get you laid..?

One of my mates got giggidy off a married woman last weekend and I was talking about it in work with a few girls (some married, some not). And so the conversation got to married people cheating on their partners.

A few of the girls mentioned the idea that a married man is more attractive and desirable to women and that they will take more notice to a guy who is wearing a wedding ring!!

They were saying that if a guy is looking for a bit of no-strings sex on a night out, a ring on your wedding finger is the best thing to attract the ladies!

Have to say this is the first time I've heard this theory, but to a single 23 year old man, this information could be gold dust!

Any girls agree with this, or any guys ever wear a "fake" wedding ring on a night out just to get sex?

The girls that will go after a man with a wedding ring on are dirtbirds who have probably ridden the biggest scum around.

The idiots that ride them are welcome to the does of syphillis that will no doubt present itself.

From an anthropological point of view it's probably that the man has already been accepted as a breeding partner by one woman that would lead others to accept him as a mate.

From a societal point of view those men are scumbags and those girls the lowest form of slapper.

Sound like skanks, which shouldn't be too difficult in the first place

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

    Both most likely true.

The whole "Natural pre-selection" (Originally defined in relation to evolution, but regularly referred to out of context for laws of attraction) thing is the bedrock for the entire "PUA" (Pick-up artist) movement.

They seem to attract men too. My married girl mates get chatted up a lot when out even tho they are wearing their wedding ring. Guess the guys think its a once off lay and chance their arms.

I heard something similar on the radio a few months back except it was the ladies with the ring on the finger.
Apparently it was becoming a trend to wear a fake engagement ring as this was more appealing to fellas...

/if ya like it then you shoulda put a ring on it...

Honestly, the idea of women going after guys with a wedding ring on their finger digusts me. Same with men going after married women, once off or not.

P.s. OP a 23 year old lad going around with a wedding ring on his finger will most likely have people wondering where you've parked your caravan for the night, not if you'll cheat on your wife.

it goes with the saying that when you are single no-one will come near ya, but as soon as you are in a relationship you are beating them off with sticks.....:P it's the thrill of the chase i guess....

    No/Yes/Maybe

Have been wearing one legitimately for 6 months now. It has had an effect. I don't think it automatically means you have a better chance of getting laid but it's definitely an ice breaker IMO. You aren't seen as so much of a 'threat' and as someone safe to chat to/have a bit of craic with. Probably getting 'in there' so to speak would make it easier to sleep with that person later. Never done that myself. Pretty skanky tbh. On both parties.

Yeah it does kinda make a girl more atractive too, that whole "wanting what you can't have" thing.

The girls were saying that it makes a guy more attractive because the fact that he's married shows that he is obviously "marriage material" for some girl and so it makes him attractive to other girls!

    No.

25 seems really young to be married.
Especially for a guy...no offence but any 25 year old men I know are drunken fools most of the time.

i have noticed, and have discussed this with my wife, friends, colleagues before that after i'd a ring on my finger, women in general were just a little bit more friendly and flirty with me. i found them more open, more willing to chat and less nervous...especially if the girl was a total stranger and even more so if a friend of a friend/colleague.

does this translate to easier to ride...

i doubt i'll ever find out

It certainly seems like more women engage in unsolicited chat with you when you're hitched but I suspect this is because they think they can have a chat without you assuming you're in. Also the man can feel more at ease and confident (and thus I assume more attractive) because he's outside that chat-up zone and thus not under pressure to perform, as it were.

Same deal with having a young child with you: I think some women find the idea of it very attractive and will try and chat/flirt a little but it hardly means they want to jump on you, contrary to what a lot of men think.

Hey, i'm a 25 year old man and I take exception to that remark! I may be drunk and I may act like a fool but I am not a communist!

Only one way to solve this. I'm buying a ring and wearing it for the next few weekends (obviously not round my usual places!) and seeing if I'm any more successful than normal!

    worth a try I think!
