Affecting Bullet Trajectory ???

Heres a quick one - If a shooter was to be in a low prone position when taking a shot at lets say 100 yrds with a .223 round at a paper target that was positioned low on a wooden post and along the bullets flight path once fired it had to fly through a clump of tall but thin seed grass would \ could the bullets accuracy be affected ?
Or would the energy of the .223 round ensure the original trajectory wouldnt be affected ? How vulnerable really are bullets when in mid-flight to outside influences like this example ?

Would like to hear ye're opinons lads ?

Yes, grass has often hindered my trajectory.

in fact I would go as far to say it would affect every round to some degree.

I found that grass and rushes (rushes being worse in my experience)

Yep it cause you no end of trouble!
Theres no way to calc the effect so best avoid such situation by sitting as opposed to prone.

Or pulling the grass, or bateing it down with a big stick ;)

    Would it affect accuracy? Yes.
How much would it affect accuracy? Harder question. Most of us have seen cloth wind flags deflect .22lr rounds from the ten ring out to the edge of the target at 50m or 100 yards at one time or another; .223 rounds have more kinetic energy, but it's the momentum you have to worry about and that'll depend on the round used, the range to the grass, what the actual grass is (are we talking actual grass or a small shrub?) and a rake of other factors.

Rounds Used: American Eagle 55gr Flat Base
Type of Grass: A few clumps of that thin but long and wirey type of grass that has twos lines of hard seeds growing from the top of it, the clunmps arent very thick but they're there all the same.
Range of Grass: From approx 5 yrds from the muzzle for 1st light clump to approx 45 yrds to next clump and probably a few lighter patches inbetween before a proper clear path of flight to the target.

    What ye think ?

    Bring a machete ;)

Or a clippers if you don't have one:D

    Just flatten out the grass

Problem solved, we all have to do it
    or elevate your self
