i'd focus on the last line of your post. you may not need it done at all, so don't worry.

top wisdom teeth are probably the easiest teeth to take out. i wonder if a certain other poster here took one out yesterday... AHEM!!

Hi you dont have to get the tooth out unless it is causing a problem like an infection, or decay and gum disease. So dont worry it may never happen

However he told me that in 6 months i may have to get my lower wisdom tooth out, its not really coming up i can just about see a white spot on my gum where my tooth is and because its so deep in my gum il have to get surgery.. Has anyone had this done? Its a place in naas ive to go to? Anyone gotten theirs done there? The dentist said if the tooth comes up itself i may not have to get it out and if i do it wont hurt as much....

I had a lower wisdom tooth taken out surgically in Newry last autumn, as the tooth was embedded in the gum and only partially exposed. Again, they were afraid of infection so it had to come out.

But relax, it's not so bad. Modern dentistry is well-advanced. They give you a good dose of drugs, in fact, you can even take a sedative too which makes you feel tipsy (if you're nervous and just want to be 'out of it'). There'll be some swelling in your jaw for a week afterward but I'll wager you've probably been through worse pain in your life already, like a fall from a bike or whatever. It's not going to be as bad as you think it will be. :D
