    Hey,

Anyone else going/planning to go to The Open in a couple weeks?

Hoping to go over from Dublin on the Friday evening, attend the golf on Saturday and head home Sunday morning/afternoon.

Any tips for cheap flights/ferrys or buses/trains to the course?

Willing to stay anywhere really (Edinburgh etc)

Surely some of ye are going? :pac:

    Cheers

Ryanair fly to Edinburgh alright, I think they also fly to Dundee. Other than that, Glasgow Prestwick is another option and then drive/commute which would be c.2 hours. Check out ferry options from Larne or Belfast, although they are more expensive than flying.

Heading over myself for the Open, boat from Belfast on Tues or Weds then back the next Monday, biggest problem you'll have is finding somewhere to stay. I booked tickets in January and best I could find was a campsite close by, all hotels and B&B's booked out well in advance. There's an older thread on this which might help you http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055803125

Ya that's what I was planning but left it too late so there's no seats left on Ryanair.

Went to the last Open at St. Andrews and it was the best day of my life haha.
Getting snubbed by tiger woods as he was walking back from the practice area to the clubhouse after his round :pac: and Mickelson telling the crowd "thanks for coming out" walking off the final green. ha

Have you tried Aberdeen or Newcastle airports? Aberdeen would be handy enough - then use this - http://www.scotrail.co.uk/sites/files/GolflinkLeaflet.pdf

From Newcastle - get atrain to Edinburgh and then one to Leuchars.
