    hi,

i'm just after finishing my first year of college and am receiving the grant.
i would like to repeat first year as i made a mess of it the first time around, however if i do repeat then the grant will be discontinued until i proceed into second year.

i can't afford to repeat the year by myself so i was wondering if i would be eligible for the dole just for the year i dont receive the grant?

    thanks

Nope as a full time student you're not allowed to draw the dole regardless of whether you're repeating or not

Aye. And don't try it because if you get caught you get screwed, which happened to a friend of mine.

If you repeat, you pay. The grant will kick in again in second year.

Although it's not morally correct would the op be ablt to draw if they are repeating externally as the college will not have them listed as a full time student, they will just have them listed as taking the exams again?
