Ok guys, SC2 is released in 27 days, i don't wanna play the beta, cause i'd rather the finished product. But i need something to play whilst i'm waiting,

So what i'd like is for you guys to suggest to me some of the RTS games you've been playing and recommend.

    So games i've played are,
Total War-pretty much all of them, cept empire which was incompatable with my gfx card :(
Warcraft 2/3 and TFT, (including castle fight, footies, legion TD, Az wars etc.)
    Homeworld 1/2
    Black and White 1/2
    Stronghold 2 (which was ****e)
    Sim City 3000
Dawn of War (up until dark crusade)
Warhammer Mark of Chaos + expansion
    Age of empires 3

    Edit// Also supcom 1/2

So can any of you guys give me something interesting and challenging to play for 27 days?

Give company of heros a go,I 'd think you'd love it.

Take Civ2/3/4 for a spin; that should tie you up or if not any of the old C&C/RA series should do to play through again.

No problem there then; add it to your steam account (only require CD key if I remember correctly) and you can download it via steam (and never worry about a CD again).

See, that'd be great, it there was a cd key in the box :'(

I reinstalled Starcraft with a cd key from the net, no online option, but single player should be good enough :)

I second the Company of Heroes suggestion. Should be availible with the 2 expansion packs. Differs quite a bit from Starcraft so should be a refreshing change.

You'd probbly pick it up cheap to in the steam sale.

Thanks for the advice guys, bought CoH for 10 euro the other day, much better than DoW, even though it's still the same game underneath, but holy **** artillery is savage! :) playin the campaign, just defend carentan, reminded me of defending andorhal in wc3 :)

Have you shouted "Holy F**K its a TIGER, get back" yet?

If you like CoH, another very budget option to conyinue the WWII armoured fury theme would be the original Blitzkrieg. I loved that game, the sequel didn't have the same playability even though it looked a lot better.

Not yet, i hate german armour though, but i just mob them with infantry using bazookas. Decided to play the campaign on hard, to enjoy a challenge, on the second last mission, the domination lvl and it's ridiculously hard, cause i was left so badly after defending the hill :(

The original Empire Earth is still good I think, especially the editor if your looking to kill time, it has alot of options

Age of Empires 2 was the best of the Age games I think, won't work properly on my computer though, for some reason the text is messed up :(
Still has a decent ammount of people that play online though I think

Civ4 is very addictive if your into turnbased games

"Victoria: An Empire Under the Sun" is very good game. Loads of depth and detail to go in to, play as any nation on earth you want (including Ireland!). A sequel to it is due out soon enough too

Clearly you should be playing SupCom Forged Alliance! Its (IMO) the best RTS out there!

Total Annihilation, old school SupCom (SupCom is pretty much based off every feature of TA) ;D
Tiberian Sun, which is my favourite of the C&C games, gets modded a lot.
Any Hearts of Iron game, or Europa Universalis. Victoria: An Empire Under The Sun is also fantastic but it's much harder to get to grips with than HoI or EU.
