Looking to buy Products from China

    Hi All,

Recently I have been looking for a certain product and noticed there is a major gap in the market for this product in Ireland. I was looking around the net to source my product cheaply and I came across a site called Tradekey.com

Has anyone ever used this site before, and can anyone give advice or experience regarding sourcing products from China or online?

I've never done this before, and I know I'll need to do a lot of research for a business plan. But I think this could be a great opportunity.

    Thanks
    RedSteady

Tradekey in my experience is better than alibaba.

Its very hard to get a good price though unless your buying a big quantity, and if its electrical goods, be VERY careful!! they can be dodgy.

Thanks, I'll look out for the threads. I'll have a look out for Alibaba too!

My quantity may be small at first, but obviously hoping if this takes off I'll be ordering larger quantities.

    Thanks all!!:)

    hello,

I'm the owner of TaobaoTube.com and can help you to buy small quantity from china's shops and wholesalers from a system called Taobao.

Taobao is one of the largest C2C e-commerce platforms in the world
but it is closed to the Chinese public because of some limitations.

In buying from shops via Taobao you get the lowest prices for any product out there. it is cheap for the Chinese client as well.

we act as an agent to help you pay for the products (that you could pay easily by paypal) we receive it on your behalf, repackage it and send directly to you.
you can view out the many testimonials, it is worthy and painless.
this is exactly what someone who would just like to start a new product line of business but would like to start on small scale needs.

    wish you success.

One of my clients has had a positive experience with an Irish guy based in China. He is very well connected and acts as a liaision for Irish companies. He sources, ensures quality control etc. Have a look at www.accuratelimited.com

What is the story with import duties?

If you import 500 small goods from china that cost say 500 USD, how much import duties will you be charged in Ireland?
