Photoshop is not a free program.

I'm sure there are trials on the Adobe website you could experiment with but if you're looking for warez / cracked / registered versions etc, this is NOT the place to ask / look.

Consider this a very stern finger wagging, there is to be no discussion of the above on Boards.ie.
Tut tut, RD, not even recommend Gimp to him  :p

Gimp is the free version of photoshop, inscape would be a free version of illustrator. Other than that, you have to pay for it. You could go for something like Photoshop elements, but it has less features, it would be cheaper though especially second hand.

yes I know this is not the place to be asking about that which is why i'm not asking for any torrents - I'm looking for either an old photoshop programme which has been made free or an alternative safe programme and you might ask " Why don't I use google " - Can you imagine the amount of useless websites you have to go through to find an alternative version of Photoshop especially when you don't know what your doing.

Yes and the fact they don't work on my laptop the last time I tried to download a torrent which I actually thought was a file to help unzip other files was actually a virus which destroyed my Laptop which was only 2 weeks old so I therefore will never touch another file which even mentions the name Torrent

Adobe don't tend to do 'old versions free' like some companies. Gimp would be your best bet.

If you do not need the full functionality of of a high end image editing program like Photoshop, I'd highly recommend Paint.net

    Paint.Net Download

    Paint.Net Features

Best of all, its designed really well, easy to use, updated regularly, and is Free :)

I find GIMP annoying and not very user friendly - but thats just me, and I use Photoshop daily in work.

What exactly do you want Photoshop for? It has lots of different functions and depending what exactly your mainly using it for there are alternative free ware or cheaper programs out there that will meet your needs such as GIMP [free] or Manga Studio [basic package is £40]
