Zermatt: cheap accomodation

    Anyone have any tips for a cheap place to stay in Zermatt in August? Going to be climbing and staying in mountan refuges a lot so just looking for the cheapest possible place to base ourselves. Any suggestions welcome. :)

    There is a youth hostel there, seems to get decent reviews, likely to be the cheapest place to stay. Otherwise, you are looking at hiring an apartment and seeing how many you can squeeze into it. The hostels in Zermatt are expensive, but the apartments are bigger than usual.

    Try the local tourist office and ask about staying in the Nuke Bunker every building in Switerland has one and they rent some of them out for 10.00 Francs a night.

    Enjoy its an amazing place
