Some bus lane justice

So I am sitting on the Drumcondra to M1 road, seething quietly at the amount of dirty frigging bus lane jumpers go past me on the left.

A Garda on a bike pulled one fellow over, wrote out the ticket and was preparing to drive off when a bus passed him.

Right behind the bus a van was following. Garda sticks out his hand and writes him up.

    Nice.

Bet you were smiling your head off. Nice when they get caught.

Am I right in saying driving in a bus lane comes under 'Failure to comply with traffic lane markings', which is only 1 point?

Loved to read that OP. :D I just feel my blood boil every time the ignorant feckers slide past a 20-car queue in the bus lane. I always say, if they were standing in a queue in the post office/supermarket and I was skipping it just like they do now, they'd be the first and loudest telling me where to go.

Love seeing them get caught. Thing is, you're usually in slow moving traffic that's moving even slower than it should because the bus lane pricks are jumping into your lane at the end

As far as I know yes. However I do wonder if a dangeorus overtaking case could be taken, as a driver ends up overtaking on the left by doing that!

Pretty sure there are no points for this - just an €80 fine.

I know that road well OP, always glad to see the queue jumpers get punished!

(On a side note, that road's bus lane is inactive between 10am and 12 midday, and also after 7pm. I love jumping the queue through the bus lane at these times, seeing the queued drivers scowling at me and then pointing to the bus lane sign showing that the bus lane is inactive. I'd never do it when the bus lane is active though)
