if you have the required "stamps" then you are entitled to a free annual oral examination in any case

Did the Gov not scrap that entitlement in the last budget ? One of the only "perks" of paying PRSI !!!

You are still entitled to one check up but the clean and polish has to be paid for now (once you have the necessary PRSI).

Guys they're probably going to tell you that you need God knows what - everything.

"You know your smile would really benefit from a teeth whitening procedure, and here at Pearl treatments we offer the most competitive rates in the business"

"You know, while we're in there I notice you could do with getting those horrible mercury fillings out"

    "how about some nitrous oxide?!"

And it was your first examination of the year? Something not right there. Unless you got other work done and that's what the payment was for. Might be worth calling them

There was a thread or 2 here saying just that. I think people went to a dentist here and were told they needed all sorts and it was going to cost a fortune. Then they got recommended a dentist up north and went up and were told it was not that serious at all, and the dentist said he had a few people being told the same thing -that some dentists were unnecessarily doing/recommending root canals.

If that's the case tha's shocking form..

Maybe someone will use this and let us know. I intend to! But I have a slight fear after the last visit to the dentist where she had to use leverage to get the tooth out, than it broke, than me mouth filled with blood..

    Sorry, bit too much info!

P.S Id never pay for root canal on a back tooth!

    Whip her out boys!

I just thought it was because they're expensive and the allowance didn't cover the full amount.

I'll quiz them about it next time I'm in ,thanks.
