    Hi,
I ordered some arcade machine parts from a company in the states 6 weeks ago.
I emailed them and they said it could take 30 days+ to be delivered, that was 2 weeks ago.
I emailed them again today and they said they have no way of tracing it as it was only send First Class USPS.
I am worried that it has been lost.
How do I go about finding out?
    Thanks.

USPS is standard postal rates, so it can take a long time to get here, and there is probably no tracking on the package. All you can do is sit and wait.

Have heard of USPS taking as long as 3 months to get to Ireland.

Yup... been there, I can vouch for that.

And then the next week you could have your item within the space of 5 working days.

    Terribly inconsistent service.

With USPS it is 30 working days for their deliveries. So excluding Saturday and Sunday that is 6 weeks. But if a sender there chooses their cheapest options you could be waiting for up to 3 months as the others on here have said. Next time make sure the pay the extra $20 to have it sent by the faster methods with tracking numbers. USPS are decent when you pay for the better service.

As to why it takes so long their stuff goes to Germany first and then to the UK and then into Ireland. And first class is most likely by road/rail/boat.

I'd swear they send stuff by pigeon sometimes too.

Not to mention current customs delays.

    Thanks for the replies folks.
I could have ordered the same stuff from the UK for about 20 euro more.
    Maybe I should have...
That will teach me not to be such a cheap skate.
    Thanks again.

A lot of stuff I get is global express and is usually 5 working days.

dvdpacific used to offer several services, I got the slow boat option once and the dvd arrived about 6 months later! did not bother me as I was in no rush to get it and it was a nice surprise when it did come.

I've gotten stuff via USPS First Class International within five or so working days. Ironically something sent to me by Express International recently took longer to get here than the First Class International packages.

has anyone used USPS priority mail international.

how fast is it? i know it says 6 - 10 days on the USPS site but it can be different.
i am meant to recieve a gift, will i still be charged import tax.

freeze4real, I've used it before. I think delivery time depends on where in the U.S. the package is coming from and how busy Irish customs is. The last time I used it, I got a package from New York which wasn't eligible for Irish VAT and I think it took four or five days.
I think you don't have to pay VAT on gifts worth up to 45 Euro, including shipping, although I could be wrong.
