ram on lifting arm is leaking oil, needs a new seal, however there is a small bit of scoring on ram, is it worth replacing seal without getting ram re cromed first?
and if so anyone know where one can get rams re done?

Probably best to get her re cromed. Don't know where you are in the country, but these guys are one of the best and cheapest in the 32 counties:

Armstrong Engineering, Drumboy Mohill Leitrim, (071)9631447.

I don't think you'd need to do anything with that ram...Just seals should do the job! We have rams worse than that that don't wreck the seals! But that's just my opinion!

VB, I have a ram on my baler has been like this for a while, doesnt leak, I would say you would be safe with a new seal and away you go;)
