We had a staff party there a long time ago - around 2001. The venue was good, but the food wasn't good.

That said, I've heard much better reports from more recent parties. We're going to a wedding there in Sept, so if you're still wondering then, I'll let you know! ;)

As far as I know, the present owners have only been there for roughly 5-6 years. It was run by a different owners back in 2001. I have only heard good things regarding the food and service.

    Best Regards

Are you talking about Cloonacauneen castle near Claregalway? If so, my fiancée and I went in there for Sunday lunch a couple of months ago and I can honestly say the rack of lamb I ate was the most delicious lamb I've ever eaten. Unbelievably tender, falling right off the bone. The food was great, although we weren't completely swayed about it as a possible wedding venue. It seems nice enough and all, but a few aspects of it of the design and decor were a bit cronky and mismatched. Understandably so, I suppose, as the owners have been gradually adding furniture and renovating since they got it. Good food though.
