Brand recommendation for 60cm Built-in Ceramic Hob

My hotpoint ceramic hob has kicked the bucket after just 3 years.

It cost c.€270 to buy, now hotpoint want €200 just to come and fix it, guaranteeing it will work for just one more year.

On the basis that it broke down once, I don't think it is economical to repair it, components they use are obviously not long lasting anyway. Last time I buy from that brand.

On the basis that I'm buying a new one, does anyone have any recommendations on reasonably priced brand, or even any non-recommendations. If anyone is aware the makers of hotpoint making other brands then I will try to avoid those as well.

    Thanks

just seen this now -hotpoint want 200 to come ,ridiculous carry on

can you post what the hob is doing or not doing -

if you are replacing ,ir really depends on your budget as its down to quality of built and parts in a hob

personally i would go with bosch neff then prob zanussi with belling being at the lower end ,however some of the belling can be ok ,but if your looking for something to last years you are going to pay more

try stay away from anything that has a painted rim as they will flake and rust in time

I was going for a Bosch/Neff but I saw that the "aperture" (hole in the counter top) is not big enough for the bosch/neff.

The aperture for a whirlpool/hotpoint/nordmende is 56cm wide and 49cm long.

The aperture for a bosch/neff is 56cm wide but 50cm long.

As I was replacing a broken Hotpoint I didn't want to go cutting the counter top - I don't have the tools or skills.

So I looked around and saw that I could get a nordmende for €216 in Power City. In fact Nordmende give a better guarantee than any other brand - 3 years parts and labour (have to claim last year by registering online).

So I went with the Nordmende - €16 effectively for 2 extra years guarantee versus Hotpoint's proposed repair for €200 that was only going to last for a year.

Here's hoping it works out - hasn't broekn down yet and hasn't tripped my circuit breaker either!
