hooking up ipod to car

Can anyone give me a steer on hooking up an mp3 player to my car-sick of fm transmitters. It's a Lancer, there's a fixed panel under the stereo where I'm pretty sure the connections are (would be/should be?).

Will mention it to dealer when I'm getting it serviced next but am I looking for an auto electrician or can people recommend a car audio specialist in the midlands (am in Athlone)?

Any guide on price or does it vary from car model to model?

    Cheers,

    S

If it has a cassette player (which it probably doesn't if it's new) then you can buy a Cassette Tape Adaptor (I got mine in Argos for €23 but you can get them cheaper online) - one side plugs into your MP3 player (3.5mm jack connection) and the other into your cassette player. It works surprisingly well.

Buy a head unit with a line in connection, preferably at the back, run a cable behind the dashboard and out to somewhere convenient. 20 minute DIY job.
