Carolla Ideas

I have a carolla and im looking to put either the 1.6 G6R engine or another one into it? any1 got any ideas to where i could find one?

any ideas on what other engine i cud put into it where i would have to make major adjustments to the rest

hmm.I want something with a bit of vroom but not too much as the bottom line is that its still a carolla at the end of the day but i want to make it my own.Would a glanza turbo engine change it much?

i'm guessing its a very rare model so!

Does it need an engine a new engine or are you doing this just for the sake of it ?

LOL, yes, yes it will.

I know a fella who put one in and left the 1.3 standard disks and drums in it :eek:

Unless you have some sort of weird attachment to it (like me with the Golf), or the engines already blown, I wouldn't bother doing it (especially if it's currently bog standard). Just sell and buy another.

Rover I just was thinking of doing something different.the car is grand as it is but i like that perticular model so was just thinking of something different.

Get a picture of the car up, you've gotten sensible replies you just have to filter out the others...

And generally, complaining about not getting sensible replies on here results in the poster sounding weak and the boardsies taking advantage of it...

You'd be better off on the ToyotaOwnersClub, dedicated forum for each model Loads of "enthusiasts" on the forum here who have gleamed their entire knowledge from TopGear and Honest John who wouldn't know a brake pad from an oil filter.

Its a late 99 E11 model.It just has a TTE Kit and 17" wheels on it but I was just wanting a bit more vroom.Did u mate throw in a turbo engine or a non turbo engine?

i was thinking of the 1.6 if I can find one or else a turbo glanze engines but i dont want to do anything if it means changing more than the engine

Either way you're more than likely going to have to change more than just the engine, with most conversions it involves changing the loom, gearbox etc. although you could be lucky. Also remember with power upgrade you're going to need to upgrade what stops you.

Also IIRC, you can't put an older engine into a newer car. Apparently it'll fail an NCT.

Also remember it's fairly hard to get insurance on a car with an engine conversion done.

as i said it was just an idea.I want something different as u see G6 corolla s everywhere but I havnt seen any with different engines..maybe there is a reason for that
