Will you still be posting on boards when you're 60?

Just wondering - will you still be posting in your grey years or is it a game for the young 'uns that will lose it's appeal? If you are still posting will you be greeted with the pitying smile usually reserved for that uncle you have who still dresses like sid vicious and listens to his punk collection on his 8-track?

I'd like to think that i'd still be keeping touch - but in reality I'm probably due to grow up in 15yrs or so.

Nah, by the time I'm 60 the place will be flooded with even more adverts and the artificially intelligent moderators will catch everything as you type it unless you can hide the meaning in metaphors.

I know a few over 70s already on the board, some play jokes and have massive fun with the kids. Others are experts I their fields and continue on board as professors Emeritus.

Kids have a nuclear viewpoint, as your post demonstrates, and the concept that only young people are on board etc is a natural expectation for them.

Which should not be so as who invented all these things? They are all in their 60s now and even Bill Gates himself still has fun on internet forums.

And if you read widely on all board you will see it spawn newspaper, magazine, TV, Radio chat and radio shows ~ heavens forbid, if ever the board were to go down # 1/2 the media reporters and researcher in Ireland would have no show tomorrow.

I'd say so as the older I've gotten the more I've wanted to whinge and moan about everything and I'm pretty sure at 60 I'll be an old fart that no-one wants to listen to in person so message boards will be my only outlet!

I'm 65 and I was taught this in school in the 60s as well. Unfortunately we found out how bad electromagnetism is for us humans. Although the Japanese do have a version of hover train which cleverly is only live as the train passes over the rails and the passengers are well protected otherwise.

I did the meals in pill form in the 60s too ~ yup we had it back then. And it worked too but it had side effects, rock hard faeces, sudden and total collapse if one pill was missed or delayed.

And our projections for the next 40 years will still not colonise the Moon, NASA have changed direction and is making robots only ~ space flight seemingly disagrees with us too.

More likely you'll a though chip in your brain linked to your Visa card, if you think of boards.ie you'll be charged, you will get mental pictures injected directly into you cerebellum when you log in, no PC necessary.

Not creepy enough yet - besides, if you wait until your 60 and in poor health, you'll only get a suspended sentence

With the way boards has gone in the last 10 years , what way will the rules be in another 20 . Will it go like the US were you can be banned for saying "Happy Christmas" as it will offend people of other religions ?

My ultimate goal in life, is that by the time I reach 60, I will be very wealthy & will be in a position to employ somebody to post on Boards for me.

Then, I will be living the dream.

Let's see... That'll be in 2031. Will boards.ie still exist then? Come to think of it, will the internet as we know it still exist or will it have mutated into a global mind-controlling monstrosity? If the answer to the first two questions is yes then I probably will. My post count will probably be a six-figure number...
