    Hey

I have a project mix i/o with mpowered 7 on my main system. Im looking at getting something a bit more mobile and was going to get my hands on a fast track pro.

Whats the story with using my current copy of mpowered with that fast track pro? I dont still need the dongle do i? And what would the registration process be like? Id like to install it on my laptop.

    Cheers

you still need an ilok but you can run protools on any machine.

too risky, i cant afford to lose my ilok.

Are there any alternatives? What versions of protools can i run with the ftp that wont need an ilok?

You have to have an iLok. Take out the iLok insurance, much cheaper and no hassle, compared to trying to replace it if you loose it. The whole point of an iLok is that your licenses are mobile.

only other option is to buy a digidesign soundcard and run protools LE which doesnt need an ilok.
