When tuning in satellite stations, what is the difference between "NIT ON" and "NIT OFF"? Thanks.

Network Information Table, I think it's an information contained within a satellite signal used to identify where the signal came from - ie BSKYB Astra 28.5e. The NIT information is useful for motorised satellite set-ups and for use with some satellite meters when initially aligning a dish.

It shouldn't make a difference to tuning channels in but maybe one of the more experienced members can confirm this.

It actually does make a difference when tuning as it will add transponders that are not already stored in the receiver.
