3 mth notice period-advice needed

hi, i started a new job about 3 mths ago at this stage. I have absolutely no interest in it and it's totally not what i expected. I also feel a wee bit misled by the company.i feel somewhat relieved as there is another person with a very similar background in my exact position. i did sign a contract where it states that i need to give 3mths notice if i leave. This seems a bit excess to say the least. In addition to this i received an email from the hr department a couple of wks back asking me to sign my contract and return as they have no record of it on file. This is despite me sending a hard copy to them before i joined. Needless to say i've ignored this email. It's uk law by the way. I'm not the only person in this position and i know this for a fact.

Any how.....i think my best option at this point is to leave the company. is there any point wasting my time in a job i don't like?

Im thinking about going back to college or getting another job in an area that i unready have over 2yrs experience in and i know i enjoy. If i go to college that starts in september inside the 3mth period!!

Really at this point id nearly just walk away after a mth.....good faith or no good faith and take the consequences if there were to be any! The company has'nt exactly being straight down the line with me and at this point i know it's not an organization that i enjoy working for!! advice appreciated!!

If you're unhappy then just leave, it's highly unlikely anything will happen. Besides, they don't even have a contract on file for you! Happy days! :)

Always better to not burn your bridges -- you never know when you might need a reference, or when some future interviewer might ask about that gap in your CV.

Tell them you're going back to college and ask very nicely and apologetically if something can be done about the notice period. If they say yes, then great. If they say no, then you're in the exact same position you're in now so you've lost nothing. Remember they will probably also be keen to keep you satisfied and motivated for the remainder of your time rather than paying you to sit there sulking for three months.
