    Hey

I'm setting up a website, and will be getting a web-developer on board very soon, who will be able to answer the following question I'm sure. But I'd like to gain some insight myself first so I know what to ask potential webdevelopers

What's involved in payment systems. Is there a good article/book that explain exactly what a Realex does exactly, what a "Gateway" is. Whose the best merchant service provider?

And who exactly do I have to pay for each payment gone through - just Realex (or whoever) and the merchant service provider?

Also, I want to set things up so that my customers will have sent their orders to me. They can then log into their account and they will see a list of outstanding payments, which they can pay whichever ones they want. Who should I be talking to about that? The web developer? Realex?

    Thganks

This blog article is very good. The author used to post here a bit, but I don't think he's been too active here in a while. Either way, it's a good read.

    And here's another site:

That's up to the web developer to implement.
