Hmmm well you have UCD, with its campus, student bar etc. but then you may have 500 people in your class and depending on you personally, you may find it hard to make friends! DIT is in town, so you can’t beat being so close to everything you need! Classes are generally smaller too, so it is probably easier to make friends! Furthermore small classes make it easier to ask a question/have personal time with the lecturer, when people may think you are weird, if you ask a question in a class of 500.

I suppose it depends on your personal preference.

No matter what Uni you go to, u have to make your own fun. There's more Clubs and Socs in DIT than in most colleges, and they're pretty good - but you'll only enjoy yourself if you make an effort to get involved with them.

Socs office have put some videos up on their Youtube site. Have a look at them and make up your own mind.

    Good luck

I totally agree with this if you want to enjoy college life to the full in DIT join clubs and societies and take part in all the different onsite events organised by the Students Union throughtout the year!!
Not only is it a way of making new friends but you have so much fun and enjoyment and can even learn/try out things you never would have tried before.

OMGXXXLUZ!!!XXXZOMG What ****ing events?:D The last event I can think about in kevin street was two guards hanging around the SU shop discussing the wonders of their employment, and
how new policies would be implemented, once the hire freeze lifts in the next few years. I can only speak of Aungier street and Kevin street, but there has been a distinct reduction of "activities
and events" from 2007, up to now. What about the DIT student life propoganda? I see less and less of it printed and handed out all over. I can count on one hand the number of SU emails this year.

Well I don't know what southside, aka Aungier St and Kevin St, is like but there has been a load of events northside DIT: Bowling trips, Quiz Nights, BBQ's, Society Awards Nights, Rag week on site events, Father Ted events in Mountjoy square, Christmas Party night organised in Cathal Brugha Street, RAW sessions, to name but a few!! :)
