Hi just wondering what people thought of someone with a law degree getting a legal secretary qualification and working as one until they completed my FE1s and got an apprenticeship? I thought it would make sense as I want to work while taking my time with the exams and get the best results, also it would give me experience of working in a firm and hopefully provide employment for a few years til the economy picks up?

Where does on get a Legal secretay qualification?

One point to note, most employers for whatever reason don't sem to particularly care what mark you get on your FE-1s once you've passed them. (Unless of course you win an award) That has been my experience. So if trying to get the highest mark in your FE-1s is a key factor behind this, that may be something to think about.

Ok yes I see what you mean about employers not placing too much emphasis on how well you've done in the FE1's. I had gotten mixed messages from other students, some saying you need high FE1 marks others saying you just need to pass. I rang up the Law Society and they were leaning more toward your side that the actual result is not that important. I might need to reassess things so! thanks

Yeah its starnge, I really don't know why not that much weight is attached to how one does in them. I mean the consensus seems to be they are more difficult than most ppls undergrad exams.
