I am trying to dis-able cell data entry once a certain date has elapsed.

I know how to add the current date to a worksheet. my formula would refer to this and if someone trys to enter values after a certain date set by me the cell will become in active and an error message will appear.

    any help? thx

Select the cell, then from the top ribbon go to Data>Data Validation>Settings and select Dates.

    Rockal,

that would work if the data i wish to enter is a date, however the data to be entered are whole numbers.

basically i have ten cells requiring data entry ( i.e number) if they are not entered by a certain date (deadline) I want the cells to be dis-abled and maybe an error message appear on screen as to why?

    thx
