Any opinions on the auxillary brake that can be used as addition to the standare brakes on a road bike.

I know they only assist in braking and dont have the same power but do cyclists find them a help in day to day cycling?

What sort of levers are you thinking of that 'only assist'? I'm using a pair of Tektro Cross Levers as auxiliary on the aerobars and they're at least as good as the main levers in the drops and better than the main levers on the hoods...

I use them, and think they apply more power than normal levers.

I think they add unnecessary clutter to the bars. I've never been in a situation where I've felt the lack of them.
