Not sure if you made it to Palmerstown today but the day went very well and was well attended, excellent feedback from the majority of golfers I spoke to anyway. Would recommend the course to anybody, very good layout altogether.

If you are interested in playing any of our qualifiers please check out our website for further details of the other National Qualifying days, next one is scheduled for Dundrum House this Friday, 2nd July, and the entry fee is €30 including prizes and the chance to win your place for the National Final at Killeen Castle.

Are these qualifying events in terms of GUI competitions. Is it treated the same as an open singles. If ya play crap do you get .1 and do you get cut as normal( do you swipe your card so the cut is automatic) if you break standard scratch or do you have to return the card to your club.

The Qualifiers are not official GUI sanctioned Open Singles but we do require any entrants looking to qualify for the National Final to have an official GUI handicap. You do not have to have swipe your card on the day but the scores can be returned to your home club to be processed all the same, if required. If you do not have a GUI handicap you can still play in the qualifiers but, unfortunately, would not be eligible to qualify.

Are you interested in any of the qualifiers in particular? Tomorrow is Dundrum with three next week - Powerscourt, Dromoland and Killarney on Wed 7th, Thurs 8th and Fri 9th July respectively.

There are 2 qualifiers in Dublin in August - at St Margaret's on Friday 6th August (€45 per person including Steak dinner after golf) and Castleknock on Wednesday 18th August (€40 per person including Burger after 9 holes).

The qualifiers on this week close to Dublin are in Powerscourt on Wednesday (€45 per person) and next week at Seapoint (€30 per person). If you would like to enter any of these qualifiers drop us a line or visit our website for further details, cheers!

Which course is it in Killarney?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 33 mygolfsociety

It's the Killeen Course in the Killarney, will probably be one of the last days a competition will be held there before the Irish Open rolls into town. There are a still a few slots available so if you would like to play let us know and I will check out some tee times for you.

I'll think about it but from what I can see the weather down there looks like it's going to be pretty miserable tomorrow.
