    any one kno where i can get my hands on second hand site fencing panels for making a pen? need about 6. can get them new but there not cheap. i,m in cavan but willing to travel if there handy money.

    Just be careful, iv seen two birds get spooked and fly into them and break their necks! the steel is very hard

    yeah, that is dear. i can get them new for 25stg. do you kno where he got them for 15?

    a local builder, i can find out if he has some left, but what dusty said is true can be hard on the birds, we put the netting you see in garden centres over the bars and it helped a lot

    Yes I've also seen this happen. Also young poults when released will be able to squeeze between the mesh. We covered all the panels with chicken wire which solved the problem.

    As said previously they can be got cheaply with some searching - we approached the builder on unfinished site & got 10 for €100......also told us we could take the 4 damaged ones for free....we did and cut them to construct doors. We had to arrange manpower & transport to collect them & take them away.

    I'd be worried about a mink or pine marten burying under that tbh.I always use weldmesh and bury it a foot done and concrete + broken glass for all my chicken pens and my pheasant pen.
