Sorry Mods, not sure if this should be here or DIY, Green Issues or Accomodation - move away if you think its in the wrong place :)

I am looking to get my kitchen insulated (flat roof extension - no insulation -dry lining insulation) and want to apply for the SEI Grant, as you know you have to use a pre-approved contractor - there are 12 pages of contractors for Dublin 11 listed on the SEI website.

Was just wondering if anyone has got this work done with the SEI Grant and can recommend a good reliable contractor?

    thanks :)

Definitely loads of them out there and Im sure most are capable of doing the job in a professional manner. Well they have to be as there are ongoing spot checks by the SEI and if these guys aren't up to scratch they get taken off the list. I dont think too many of them would want to take a chance.

    Recommendations by PM please.

    Thanks Muff

by relilable i mean is going to turn when he said and do the work in a reasonable amount of time and not leave all his rubbish behind (i have had nightmares with so many building people before):)

Oh, and could people PM Des rather then me - thanks

That would be this Des for anyone who doesn't know :p

When you decide on someone you lay down the pre conditions. Turn up on time, finish on time, no mess, etc etc. Failure to comply with any or all of those will result in non payment/reduced payment.

Money talks and you have the edge on them here.

Thats more of a plumbers job than a plasterers job to be honest with you.

thats what i thought. i know when i got the rest of the house plastered i had to organise a plumber to come in and remove the radiotars but i was just thinking with the SEI would it done by the company, just hoping really - it is such a pain trying to organise all these different tradesmen:(

In a word no. There are a couple of instances in which a grant would be paid for insulating only part of the house but this wouldn't be the case here.
