So much! No seriously, I can think of a lot of topics, already.

I'd like a RC dedicated forum where RC's can chat without having to get in to an inter Christian denominational debate.

 you want to formally move Catholicism out of Christianity? Bizarre.

I don't see what the issue is with this request.

If I want to debate issues with other denominations I can visit Christianity forum.

If I want to talk speak about RC issues with my fellow RC I should be able to do so on a dedicated subcatgeory, and not as part of a Christianity forum.

Looks like the reformation has been turned on its head.

Given that things haven't being working out too well here recently, I've suggested a seperate Catholic forum, with the full aproval of Tom.

I think it might be a good idea, myself. What thinketh thou, forum?

    Yeah why not?

I particularly be interested in discussing pastoral reorganisation in the RCC.

(I'm thinking we could get the smurf and isaw as mods, to keep everyone happy.)

Maybe neither of us are interested in being mods.

Given my usual mode of argument Ill tell you why I should NOT be a moderator

    1. I come from the anti authoritarian school of not wanting to be a member of a club who would have me. :)

    2. I have a healthy disrespect for those who run boards. A poacher turned gamekeeper may however be a boon. I mean look at what happened to Ignatius Loyola:)

    3. I'm not around all the time and have a psychological predisposition to pedantry. But I do tend to frequent Christianity. If my ban was lifted from politics though I might well gravitate over there.

    4. Short of personal attack I would tend to allow free speech as long as it is supported with evidence, even if people might find it offensive.

    5. a "Catholic" forum I assume would be a forum for people to discuss things that relate to the Roman Catholic Church. As I have pointed out posters don't have to be Catholics so how wold you avoid the opinions about "official lines" particularly when non of the moderators have official powers of imprimatur?

On the plus side I would like to see heavy theological historical and ecclesiastical issues discussed by average people. But that could be done with me as a mod.

You have to go to forum requests and suggest the idea.

Michael G, I believe, runs a forum that cater strictly to RC's. There are 1000's of others. This is the Christianity forum. There wont be any denominational sub-forums as long as I can help it.

actually to turn that on its head if Catholicism speaks for all Christianity then Christianity should be the sub group. If Catholicism is a sub group then it isn't "leaving" it is just demarking its postion. This might not make sense for other Orthodox and Anglicans elsewhere but when you look at Ireland in the Republic anyway RC is huge compared to other denominations. I mean at least thirty times the size of second place C of I. http://beyond2020.cso.ie/Census/TableViewer/tableView.aspx?ReportId=74640

The argument has been made that boards represents the society.

Don't worry, man. Light modding, as is per usual. ;) Someone has to put their name down on the form, anyway!

You are allowed to discuss them.

I have some sympathy with the idea of "Catholics only " threads. the argument is that non Catholics don't have a clue about Catholic issues no more then soccer fans have about rugby. But to counter that if people really want to discuss issues they should be getting involved in their own parishes and doing some work in one of the thousands of Church based groups in their diocese and not be confined to relatively ineffective soap boxing on the internet.
