For Sale, Ergomo Pro Power Meter Kit. Includes Bottom Bracket, FSA Carbon Cranks 53t, 39t 175mm

Has had very little use as was sitting on a spare frame for the last year. Selling due to not racing competitively anymore. It certainly has less than 500km use

    RRP: $1650

    Will Sell for €500 ono

    Description from website below:

Ergomo determines the current power output of the cyclist right in the bottom bracket. During pedaling, the axle twists slightly, this torsion is measured exactly by comparing two signals and is converted into watts. The system is sensitive enough to detect a minimal distortion of only 0.0025 degrees.

Another advantage: ergomo offers optical non-contact power measurement. That guarantees less wear and high reliability. In addition, the integrated sensor/ bottom bracket design is protected against the weather and dirt by a double seal.

Ergomo contains all the components you need for professional systematic training. Only systematic recording and analysis of your performance can move you ahead faster. And the central parameter is power in watts. That's how the pros train, and now you can, too!

With (pedaling) power as the central parameter (watts), you can optimize your energy output while cycling‚ for instance, by shifting gears or changing your position on the bike in order to minimize pedaling frequency and heart rate while maintaining or even increasing your performance.

ergomo pro measures your power in watt during cycling in the bottom bracket, exactly where it is generated. The new ergomo pro is applicable in road and track racing, triathlon and mountainbiking. On the basis of 72 measurements per pedal revolution the torque and cadence is registered and out of this your current power is released. Your individual wattage data is displayed in the big screen on your egomo pro computer with an inprecision of only ± 0.5 percent. So you can always see your power and follow their evolution.

Use the latest cycling technology and benefit from the innovative controlling system ergomo pro, so that you can claim soon that you've got the power!

    Measurement precision: ± 0.5%
Measuring system with a worldwide patent; made in Germany
    With English or Italian threads
Different axle lengths to match your bike
Sensor adds hardly any additional weight compared to commercially available bottom brackets
Keep your own components (wheels, pedals)
Optimal protection against weather and dirt
Sensor housing of high strength aluminum alloy
Complete training system, including accessories and tools

couple of questions if thats ok,

what type of bottom bracket is it ?(my Felt F65 uses Shimano Ultegra SL)
Does Kit include computer, mapping /software, sensor etc. (basically everything to get system operational.)
Have you had any problems to date? how does it compare to Cycleops Powertap in terms of reliability and ease of use?
Is there any backup /service available in Ireland?

    cheers in advance,

    Martin

    Martin,

It's an english type BB. I had it on my Felt B2 Pro 2008 Time trial bike so it should be fine on it. It's Square taper and ISIS so you may not be able to use ultegra cranks but I'm including (lighter) carbon FSA Cranks.

It includes everything needed to get up and running. Bottom bracket, Chainset, cables, computer, software etc

I've not had any issues with it's reliability. It is very accurate. Due to it's design it's quite light as powermeters go. One advantage over a powertap is that it is Bottom bracket based so it can be used with both training wheels, race wheels or on the turbo without any hassle.

With regards to service it's main service centre is based in Germany but all parts are available to order here

Does it require refacing and rethreading the BB area?

It depends on how long the condition of the frame is. I didn't need to do it on the two bikes I had it on. A Felt TT bike which previously had a Dura Ace BB on and a Scott Road Frame which had ultegra BB. I didn't need to rethread or reface for either.

    Hi there

Might be interested in this - already using Ergomo on a couple of bikes but want get my winter bike kitted out if the price is right - with this in mind a few Qs if I may

    1. Can you clarify if the BB sensor is ISIS or ISO (Square Taper)
    2. how old is the unit / what version of software is installed e.g. PN-080422 or an older version - I suspect it is an older version judging by the fact that the charger appears to an older version (not that should be a problem to a potential purchaser BTW – it’s just that I am using the newer version on my other bikes / laptop so I would need to upgrade to ensure consistency)
    3. depending on the age of the unit have batteries been replaced - again shouldn’t be a show stopper but the cost the cost of replacement needs to be factored in from my point of view, if not done recently.
    4. Are you prepared to sell Head Unit and Sensor without crank - the cranks you have are the wrong length for me

Sorry for all the Qs, but €500 is a substantial amount of cash for a used unit - so I would need to know that everything is working correctly and compatible with my existing software and other ergomo stuff

    Cheers

    Hi Kebel,

I just checked now and It's an ISIS Unit. The Powermeter's actually in my bike shop at the moment as I had it on a frame that I had intended to build up before now but I never did. I am now building up the frame and without the Powermeter so He's taking it out for me so I'll check after the weekend for sure about the software version.

The battaries haven't been replaced but it's got very little use. Under 1000km's for sure.

    Here's it's detailed history:

I got the system (new) in July 2008.
I had it on my TT Bike for July&Aug 2008 (was mainly doing olympic tri's at the time) Felt B2 Pro Approx 700km total use
Aug 2008 - Took it of my TT bike and Put it on a Scott Road frame I had intended to build for road racing.
Sept 2008 I got injured and stopped training so never built the bike. Or used Powermeter. It sat in my spare room all this time on a frame.
I'm returning to do some riding now but have no use for powermeter and am building up the scott frame.

I would be willing to do a deal on the computer and sensor unit and also any deal would be on the condition It's compatible with software etc.

Let me know what price you'd be thinking

Thanks for that Mark, but the the ISIS sensor is not what i am looking for as I have an existing square taper c/set.

For the the benefit of others there is noithing wrong with the ISIS sensor, it's just not suitable for my existing equipment. The ergomo is a very useful piece of kit (as is any Power Meter) and woth considering esp at the right price.
